In 1996 I graduated University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Management and a Minor in Political Science. What I intended to do with those, I had no idea. There weren’t many job opportunities where I lived and the thought of commuting long distances was not very appealing. After several years and time spent as a lifeguard, Director of Health & Safety, EMT, Personal Trainer, High School Teacher (where I taught Business and Computers) and Operations Manager, I knew I needed to do something else.
I went back to school and completed a second degree in Computer Networks. Upon graduating, I started my first corporate IT job at Hewlett Packard. There I worked on desktop computers, printers, software and all kinds of machines used for R&D and Production. When HP merged with Compaq, I experienced my first corporate IT layoff.
From there I went to work for a company called the CoStar Group. CoStar was at the time the largest Commercial Real Estate Information Company in the country. Here I assumed the position of Network Administrator where I began working more with server and network technologies. After several years, I experienced corporate IT layoff number two. The company outsourced its data center to a colocation facility and laid off their entire IT staff.
Next I took a position at global cellular communications leader Qualcomm as a Senior IT Engineer in charge of global systems. Here I designed, built and maintained Cloud Computing Systems all over the world. I managed many projects with budgets in the millions of dollars. After four years here, Qualcomm decided to centralize their decentralized IT departments. This meant IT layoff number three.
After some time off to re-evaluate my technology career, White Tiger Services was born in 2011. White Tiger Services was originally created as an Information Technology Consulting Company. For several years I specialized exclusively in providing information technology services to small and medium businesses. These services included desktop/laptop support, server infrastructure support, software support, network/backbone support and more.
As time went on, I expanded White Tiger Services into the Web Development/Design space. While White Tiger Services continues to provide high quality, professional Information Technology services based on years of high level corporate experience to small and medium businesses, the majority of my work is now web based.
